My regards to my professor. I am Ferdus Rifa. Everyone calls me Rifa. The meaning of my name is “Paradise and happiness” according to Islam. I am a Muslim girl from a Muslim family. My motherland is Bangladesh, and my native language is “Bengali”. I came to the USA in 2016. I live with my parents and my siblings in New York City. I am the youngest in my family. I love my family so much. That is all about my Background. Now, let me tell you more about myself so you can get to know me better.
I am a freshman student at City College of New York. My intended major is computer science as I am very much interested in Mathematics and Science. I would like to work hard in this field and put my efforts into designing and creating software systems in future. Computing is an important part of today’s world and having knowledge in this field will allow me to solve critical problems. It is hard, but nothing is easy in the world. Working hard on it now will give me many opportunities in future I believe. Also, my brother is a doctor. My sister is majoring in business. And I am majoring in computer science. It is interesting to me that we all have different interests and work in different fields. I am just hoping to do well in what I have decided to do.
My interests have no bounds. I like painting, listening to music, dancing, hanging out, shopping, watching TV shows or Netflix, and many more. I like to watch anime, Korean dramas, Hollywood movies, etc. Above all these, I like to hangout and have fun with friends. I also like to participate in various clubs and activities in my college.
I am a girl who mostly acts the way she should depending on the situation. I am mostly an introvert who can only be an extrovert with the closest ones. I like to keep everything in a boundary. Throughout my education my teachers and professors were the main supporters of me. I used to work hard as they trusted me a lot. I am a friendly girl who likes to make new friends and stays loyal to her old friends. I can be a soft-spoken or bold speaker. Overall, I am a girl who can be simple and extra at the same time. I know this sounds weird. But that is what I am like. Like most of the other girls, I also like living in fantasies. But I am also very practical. I am confident and hopeless at the same time.
I believe that being kind, staying humble, and working hard are the most important things in life. That is how we become good and successful human beings. Although that does not mean I am always a good girl. I make a lot of mistakes. I act without thinking. I sometimes cannot distinguish between right and wrong and end up doing the wrong things. But that is how we learn and that is how we grow. So, I do not have regrets.
This should give you an overall idea of who I am. I really like you as my professor. Thank you for guiding us. I will do my best not to disappoint you and to perform well.
